Sick Baby!

Hailey has come down with something! She was running a fever today and had a runny nose. She slept HORRIBLE last night. Up every hour crying! My poor little munchkin. Hopefully she will sleep tonight.

The pedi wanted to see her and there's really nothing that can be done at this point but wait it out. She looked miserable at the office. She always smiles and hams it up for the nurses and the pedi. This time the pedi barely got her to crack a smile. All Hailey did was lay her head on my shoulder. She had a 100.9 fever there. I have never seen her look that way even when she had RSV!

I am hoping she gets better over the next few days! With Easter coming up, we wouldn't want to miss out on anything because she isn't feeling well!

It's not Croup, it's RSV

Ugh. The three letters every parent fears. RSV. Stands for Respiratory Syncytial Virus. Thankfully the pedi thinks it's mild and nothing to worry about right now. We need to keep a close eye on her and also gave me the signs to look for if it becomes worse.

She began wheezing late night which made me call her. She wanted to see her today. The barking cough is no longer really there. It's more on the phlegmy side now, and the barking isn't very often.

It worse at night and definitely keeping her up. She went from sleeping 12 hours straight to waking up crying several times a night.

The bad part is that the pedi said it can last up to 4 weeks! Yikes. Let's hope this doesn't last that long.

I have never been the type of parent to insist on hand washing before touching Hailey but I think I am going to start grilling everyone about their health before they hold her. Having a sick baby is not fun! Especially for her!

Hailey has Croup

Hailey developed a cough on Sunday. It was pretty phlegmy right from the start. Last night is started having a barking tone to it. As today progressed it became worse. I called the pedi and she said it may be the beginnings of Croup. It's not full blown as of yet. She doesn't have the coughing attacks/episodes like described or trouble breathing. Tonight after she went down the cough seems to be stronger and she has woken up crying a few times after being down for just a hour. Tonight may be a long night....

Hopefully this will clear up and not become a textbook case of Croup. We have a humidifier going in her room. That's about as much as we can do for now. My poor sick baby.

Bye-Bye Pretty Bumper!

Last night we took out the pretty plush bumper and put in the breathable bumper in her crib! She is starting to scoot out of her sleep positioner and snuggle with the pretty bumper. Even though she has great head control and is still on the apnea monitor, it doesn't make me feel comfortable. I would still like to prevent the monitor from going off!

Randy commented how it didn't look very good on the crib (compared to the pretty bumper) but unfortunately safety comes before fashion!!

Hailey seems to be feeling better though! She has been napping the past few hours so hopefully when she wakes up the flu bug will be more on it's way out!

Poor Hailey has the Flu!

Hailey woke up last night throwing up (out her nose and everything!). And some more this morning. I had the flu Sunday and now Hailey has it. Crap. She is still smiling away though! You can tell she is sick because she doesn't want to play just lay on Mommy or Daddy. Hopefully it will only be the 24 hour bug I had. When I called her pedi she said it has been going around. Poor baby! =(
